Loreworms

These creatures are spawned from the body of a Collector. They are large, maggotoid creatures which do their host’s bidding, seeking out magical tomes for it to devour. The key to their eating habits lie in their dripping saliva. To living creatures, this saliva can cause instant paralysis. To magical tomes, the saliva absorbs magical text, leaving a blank, saliva covered book. Loreworms can smell the slightest hint of magical tomes, as well as the trace scent of books left on the fingertips of those who have read such books, and this is how their host will identify a potential target.
