BodyBuggBorg

I officially starting my BodyBugg program on Thursday Sept 10th, 2009.  On my weekly Friday weigh ins I will save my data here in order to share my success (failure is not an option!).  I’ll try to add any commentary to help make sense of the lessons learned along the way.

Here’s a quick rundown to understand these statistics.  Daily I want to achieve a a Calorie Deficit of -1000 calories.  That is a weekly total of -7000 calories which equals two pounds (3500 calories = 1 pound).  Yellow means I fell short of -1000 calories but I at least had a deficit.  Red means I  had a surplus and failed miserably.  The goal is to never have a surplus and to make sure I make up any lacking days so that I end up with -7000 calories for the week.

    Hi Ted,

My name is Rachael and I stumbled across your blog last night while I was looking for info on my new Bodybugg. I just set it up last night and am having a lot of the same problems you had. I can’t get it to set up at all on my Macbook and even though I got it set up on my PC, it won’t sync up to the website. I’m not too worried about the Macbook issue, but can you remember what you did to get yours to sync with the website? Also, were you able to set yours up with your starting weight and your goal weight? I had to set my goal at 200 because it wouldn’t let me set it at 150. I hope you don’t mind me asking you these questions.

Do you know of any more Bodybugg blogs like yours? I am probably going to set up one of my own this weekend if I can get all of these issues worked out. I have added you to my feed reader, so I’ll definitely be checking back in.

    P.S. I like the title of your blog. I’m a huge Firefly/Serenity fan! :-)

Hi Rachel! I gave up on my Macbook. If you’re running Snow Leopard then that’s probably the reason. I did some looking on their forums and found many Mac folks complaining about incompatibility when they upgraded their OS.

For syncing on my PC it just finally worked. Be sure you’re using IE and not Firefox. I know that I had to call tech support to help me activate it but after I did that it synced without a problem. The only problem I did run into is once in a while their server would not accept the data because I guess it was down. It didn’t happen often so be sure you keep trying. As much as I loath calling tech support, I do recommend you call them if you’re still having problems. The guy that I spoke with was helpful and nice.

As for setting a goal weight, I think all you have to do is click My Info > Create New Program and then when you answer the questions you can set your goal weight.

I haven’t seen any other Bodybugg blogs out there but then I haven’t really looked. I strongly encourage setting up one for yourself. It helps you to stay focused and getting feedback from friends is very helpful!

Good luck and keep flying! :)

I got it to work. I called tech support and they had me update Java and it worked fine from my netbook after that. I am running Snow Leopard on the Macbook, so I guess that’s why it won’t work there.

I got my blog set up. I’ll probably work on the design a little at some point, but at least it’s up. It’s at mydailydiet.wordpress.com if you want to check it out.
